Delivering a Modern Healthcare Infrastructure Platform_
Valuecom | Delivers £10M Healthcare Infrastructure Procurement Programme_
Supporting the Modernisation of a UK Healthcare Imaging Network_
At Valuecom, we're proud to share the successful conclusion of a major IT infrastructure and cloud procurement engagement supporting a large UK healthcare imaging network.
This complex, high-value programme required the sourcing, procurement and integration of critical infrastructure services across multiple suppliers and technology domains. Through a structured and collaborative approach, Valuecom helped secure technical alignment, commercial value and approximately £2 million in savings, while reducing delivery risk and supporting the long term modernisation of a nationally important healthcare environment.
A Simple but affective approach that delivers measurable value_
Programme Scope and Technical Landscape_
The procurement covered a broad range of infrastructure, cloud and imaging platform components across multiple healthcare environments, including:
Datacentre compute, SAN, NAS, networking, load balancing, security and non-production environments
Azure Local edge infrastructure supporting distributed healthcare locations, including compute, storage, networking and local load balancing
Veeam backup and recovery infrastructure across all operational sites
Co-location services including datacentre cabinets, power, cooling and structured cabling
VMware, Microsoft licensing and associated enterprise software agreements
Installation, configuration, migration, testing and service acceptance activities
Ongoing support and managed service provisions
Supplier coordination and governance across multiple technology providers
Bringing Multiple Technologies Together Through a Single Accountable Delivery Model_
Single Accountability, Best-of-Breed Delivery_
To support the modernisation of a large UK healthcare imaging network, Valuecom designed and led a procurement approach that combined best of breed technology solutions under a single prime supplier model.
The appointed prime supplier assumed overall responsibility for solution design, & delivery coordination, while specialist infrastructure and technology partners provided individual components across compute, storage, networking, cloud and supporting services. This approach created a single point of accountability while preserving the technical and commercial benefits of selecting the most appropriate solution for each requirement.
A structured Best and Final Offer (BAFO) process was then conducted across participating suppliers. Proposals were assessed against clearly defined technical, operational, commercial and service criteria, enabling informed decision-making, reducing procurement risk and ensuring the selected architecture delivered long-term value, resilience and scalability for the healthcare environment.
Modern Infrastructure, Smarter Spend: £2M Saved_
Tangible Results_
Through a structured sourcing and procurement process, Valuecom helped a large UK healthcare imaging network secure approximately £2 million in estimated savings compared to initial supplier proposals. By applying robust commercial governance, competitive procurement disciplines and a formal BAFO process, the organisation was able to maximise value while reducing commercial and delivery risk.
Beyond the financial savings, the programme delivered a modernised infrastructure platform supporting critical healthcare imaging services, improved supplier accountability through a prime supplier model, and a scalable architecture designed to support future growth and operational resilience.
Valuecom played a central role throughout the engagement, providing independent commercial oversight, procurement leadership and supplier governance to ensure technology investment decisions aligned with both operational requirements and long-term strategic objectives.
Valuecom Enabling Digital Transformation At Scale_
From Procurement to Transformation Delivery_
Following the successful completion of this major sourcing and procurement programme, Valuecom has been contracted to provide client side transition and transformation leadership along with Azure Portal set up and architecture for the next phase of the engagement.
Supporting a large UK healthcare imaging network, Valuecom helped establish the commercial, technical and governance foundations required for successful delivery. Through a structured procurement approach, the programme secured more than £10 million in awarded contracts and delivered approximately £2 million in estimated savings, while creating a scalable platform for future growth and service modernisation.
If your organisation is planning a major technology sourcing, procurement or transformation initiative, we'd welcome the opportunity to discuss how Valuecom can help you achieve the right commercial and operational outcomes.
